breeding hybrids

I don’t know if this is the proper place to ask this, but I hatched 5 little hybrid chicks last night and was trying to read about what genes get passed from dad n mom, well here’s my question, I had 2 cinnamon queens breed by a splash maran rooster, they both ended up with feathers on their legs, and I tried feather sexing all my little birdies this morning, but they all look the same to me. So since they have the feathers on the legs does that mean they are roosters? I may have no clue what I’m even talking about, I was more confused by what I read than what I learned from it. Thanks for any ideas!

Feathered legs seem to pass on pretty easily and isn't a sex-linked trait. They just picked that up from the rooster and could be male or female. I've read that feather sexing isn't accurate with every breed, so that's reliable in your case, either.

The best way I've found is using sex-linked crosses or work with an auto-sexing breed. In your case you're just going to have to wait and see. :)

Thanks for the answer! I was beyond confused with the stuff I was reading, I was pretty surprised and pleased my maran rooster had a couple chicks, my cream legbar rooster is the dominant in the group n seems to be pretty possessive over his ladies. He had 3 babies with 2 golden laced Wyandottes and my buckeye. All the babies are really unique and probably one of a kind lol.
