Thanks- I am think I'll take my chances on F2 and 25%. I want to cross an American Game Roo (Single Comb) to an Jersey Giant hen. What a concept Aggressive x Friendly; Small x Large, e+ x E. May take a few crosses. I want the size of the JG, The coloration of the AG, I want the bird to be non broody, The hardiness of the AG, I bet I get a mean big broody chicken.....Oh well you have to crawl before you can walk and you have to walk before you can run. If I was trying to make money I may have a different approach. I am just going to have fun, eats lots of chicken and give away lots of chicks.

The project is a total of six crosses. Not counting F2 and F3 on some if needed. I'm worried about inbreeding and egg production. My goal is at least 180 eggs a year. The leghorn is in there for egging but I have to breed out the white shell. Thats what the marans, welsummers, jerseys and penes are for. BTW like the chicken tractor you have for your red broilers. I like magically exact, too. I have bad luck and can't count on having good luck.

Australorps are E/E, extended black, which is dominant. This is the same as the black Jersey Giant.
Breeding Australorps with any recessive colored bird would work just like the example above.
(well, most of the time anyway. I'm sure there could be cases where things get weird)
