Breeds suitable for free ranging

I am considering free ranging some birds on my farm in addition to the birds I keep enclosed and was curious to which breeds are most suitable for survival free ranging.

Are you looking for just laying free ranging breeds or Dual Purpose free ranging breeds?

At the moment I am more focused on laying hens and dual purpose birds.

Most of all birds can free range,but there are only a a lot little who lay well.

Most hybrid chickens lay better then other no crosses.
Red sexlinks are very good chickens for pure egg production,and are very docile.Black sex links are as well good for , pure egg production,and very docile.Unlike you would think,Production reds are hybrid I know how much they lay per year mainly because I have them,but I research too.They lay 200 to 280 per year,and are a great chicken pet.

I have some cinnamon hens coming in March that are hybrids for laying purposes I am mostly looking to get some more "adventurous" breeds to free rage outside ad my chicken enclosure just for ornamental value.

Games - American or Old English - would be my first choice. They are hardy, range well and the hens make excellent mothers. A Mediterranean breed could be a second choice depending on your climate.

Cinnamon queens are red sex links,good luck!

it has been my experience that the color of the hen can play a big part in her survival free ranging. I would stay away from white.
