A pullet that I recently acquired has bright red worms in it's droppings. Is this Gapeworm? Should I return the bird or worm with Safe Guard? I think the pullet is about 10-12wks.

I think i read that if a worm is red and "y" shaped, then it is gapeworm.
Though its often found down the throat of the bird, they can also expel it in their feces.
Whatever kind of worm it is, you can worm it with valbazen, which kills all kinds of worms.
Other wormers don't kill "all" kinds of worms.

Are you sure it is worms? once in a while, the poo with have some stomach lining, which is bright red and totally normal. I'll try to find a picture to post.

GoChick is correct.
Make sure it is worms, are they moving at all?
Sometimes the red intestinal lining can be mistaken for worms.

I found the same thing my 10 week old pullet poop. Thought it was worms too. But turns out with the picture it is intestinal lining. Thank you for this post.
