Bring your "Howdy's" here!

Glad you had a good time. Ours is 2 hours away, so we are only going to make a day of it. Last year I missed the weekend with the poultry, so this year I am going to be sure to make it.

How's the puppy doing?

She's sleeping! LOL She is doing well. She is VERY talkative, which is common in german shepherds. She is one of the most talkative I've had though.

She went to her first puppy class, and talked while the instructor talked, then once play time began, she didn't say a peep.

I think she was telling the instructor... Come oooon lady stop yapping, and lets play!. She slept the WHOLE night that day. She normally doesn't, and gets me up at least twice to go out.

She does fine with the chickens, and she's met the horses next door several times now. She is a character that's for sure.

I forgot to add... Gandalf our EE rooster likes to stalk her in the yard. It is one of the funniest things we've seen. He won't go past a certain perimeter with her, but he follows her when she turns her back, then stops all of a sudden when she looks back at him. Kind of like red light, green light.

Hahaha Sounds like something my male duck Frank does. I can hear him behind me, but when I turn around he just looks around like "who, me?" I have caught him doing it to the cats too! You will have to post new pics of her so we can see how she has grown! And maybe take her to puppy class every day to wear her out! lol

Yep, her puppy classes start on the 3rd of August. The instructor does a puppy social class in between. That way they can learn how to play and interact with other dogs and people while waiting for the next session to start up. They are fun, and with her breed it's needed. She needs to be exposed to everything, and anything right now.

That is neat. We don't have anything like that around here right now. But when the animal shelter opens up they are looking in to starting some classes like that. I haven't been around german shepards much but our neighbor has 2 that are just beautiful but they let the run everywhere and with no discipline. I have had to chase them off many times! Some people just shouldn't have dogs!

Yeah, I agree with you. We won't let any of our dogs run free, ever. They have an enclosed area to run off the house, and they are ALWAYS on a leash when not in their fenced in area. We have farms, and horses next to us. We don't want them harrassing our neighbors animals. Our neighbors all have dogs as well, and I have yet to see any of them run loose either.

It's just a neighborly thing to do. Respect thy neighbor

I agree, we have a large run for our dogs and don't let them out either. Unfortunately seems like there are more people who let them run freely instead of respecting thy neighbor! Enough about that, but I am glad you are a responsible neighbor and jealous I don't live anywhere near you to enjoy you and yours.

We are still working on the house. The bedroom project is in full swing! There is nothing left but the bed, so I had to hunt for clothes this morning! He only let me have 2 baskets and the rest is toted up for now. Mama cat is very upset that she doesn't have a place to put her babies anymore, but we think she settled with daughter's room since she is out of town this week.

We discovered a problem with the sill to our french doors. The wood is rotted, and it looks like a simple fix is turning into a bigger fix. I guess this weekend they will tackle the problem, but I'm hoping it doesn't rain because the sill is currently not back together, and rain will only make it worse!

That sucks! I think it is going to rain here before long and I have all my totes piled on the front porch! They are closed, but I don't trust a good hard rain, so I may go home in a bit and tarp them. It seemed like the easiest place to stack them at the time, but it has been a while since it rained, so it never occurred to me stuff might get wet.

It will be a while before we are done, gotta wait for son to get back from vacation to help put sheet rock on the ceiling. And, I will never decide on colors!
