I can really talk on the phone if I feel comfortable with who I'm talking to. I hate those phone conversations where you don't know what to say, and you're thinking "okay, I'm so ready to hang up".
I hatched one of Cyn's (speckledhens) Barred rock roo's and he ended up turning REALLY aggressive. I tried all kinds of things to tame him and he still attacked EVERYONE!
He was SO SO SO good to his ladies though, I real Romeo!
Well, on Craigslist he went......
and someone came to the house to pick him up while I was working so I did not get to say Bye to the meany!
I hear he got a good home with an experienced "mean roo" handler! He wants to breed him, so thats good.
My girls looked so LOST and SAD when I checked on them a little while ago though... They were all on the roost looking at me and looking around as if to say "Where is he? Where's are man gone"?
It seems that some roosters just don't know where the line is between protecting their flock and respecting their keepers.
I sure hope you can find your ladies another leader...I'm sure they depended on that big guy to look out for them. If they'd never had him around, one of the hens would've assumed the dominant role of the flock...now they're just lost, poor babies. But you definitely did the right thing.
You can't have such a mean rooster chasing after everyone!
Yeah I am really glad he isn't going to made into soup or something!
On a brighter note, I hatched 8 of his babies and plan on keeping 2 and I also have 5 Lemon Blue Cochins babies! I'm sure a will end up with a few Roo's since I have such GREAT luck at hatching Roos!
