Yeah I rushed out this morning to take care of the chickens and ran back in for my coat also. It didn't take long for my coffee to get cold

Opa.. I'm used to crazy weather from growing up in New England, but it threw me off guard this morning. It looked all nice and sunny.

Michelle, I just showed Granny the pictures of the Delewares. "Oh what pretty birds, we are going to get some of those aren't we"? The old girl surely loves looking at chickens.

Sam, you tell Granny that hopefully

I'm gonna have plenty of pullets from my last hatch...and she is getting some of them.

I just love my Dellies...the girls have such great personalities. I practically have to boot them out of my way just to walk to the coop.

Hooray for all the hatches! And I've seen pics of baby pheasants, and they do look like chicks.

I have not seen the sun for over two weeks. We had a couple really hot days back in April, 80*. Then it pretty much went back to high 50's and low 60's. And now its been foggy since the holiday weekend. High 50's low 60's, no sun. Oh yea, it did peak out for a bit the other day, very late afternoon. And a couple times when I drove into town, I could see the sun, way over there, on the hills. But not here, yes, summer weather is here already! I've often wondered, how do we get the name 'Sunny California"? Want to go to the beach, well, put on your sweats and take a jacket, get into the water, you'll turn purple.

Gosh I may need to move out that way! I can't stand the NC summers! It is so hot and humid here that it feels like you hit a brick wall when you go outside. You always seem wet, and it is hard to breath. I have always loved the cooler weather. I grew up (until I was 12) in Kansas and Boston. Boston winters were a bit too extreme, but Kansas wasn't too bad. I lived in Sierra Vista Az and it was nice there too, not too hot like Tuscan or Phoenix. I dread the up coming summer months that seem to last forever.
Here are some of the pheasants. You can see the color difference. The guy I got the eggs from said the parents have some Mongolian in them, but the grow up to look just like regular ringnecks but with a deeper burgandy chest. So they are all ringnecks, just some are a different color. I got 32 this time!! YAY!!
