That is what I thought, but I hadn't had success in hatching guineas before, so it was my first time. The first 2 came Friday, one on Saturday and this one had a hole in it Sunday afternoon when I came home, I left it and last night it was still that way and it was still alive, so I figured after 30+ hours, it was time to help because it wouldn't make it anyway. I peeled off the whole shell and the poor guy was already almost completely dry!
We left him in the bator overnight and he was doing fine this morning when I put him in the brooder!
Like I said, not much success in hatching them so when son called Friday to ask me if I forgot to take them out of the turner because one hatched (they were 2 days early)
I told him I had given up and didn't bother to take them out. He set up the brooder and I looked at daughter and said "I hate to do this, but we are going to have to stop by the store and pick up a few chicks so the little guy won't be lonely". So, we got 2 out of the $2 bin, swearing they were the last ones we are taking (haha), got home, she went to put the chicks in while I looked at the bator and low and behold there was the second one! She says "you mean to tell me we didn't even need these??"
But, if we hadn't brought them home, we wouldn't have had another one hatch, that is just the way things fall for me!
Good morning princess!
