Brinsea Eco 20 with autoturn!!

Here's my tip. Double check the temp with an Accurite thermometer. Mine was off by 3 degrees. Also, mail in your warranty card or register online or they void your warranty, even if that practice is illegal in the state you live. I am fighting Brinsea right now about this with the backing of Consumer Affairs.

I got mine a couple of months ago, my 1st hatch was a 100% hatch, 22 eggs.

and that was my 1st time incubating other than one time when I borrowed a styro foam one and it cooked my eggs.

You could take one or two narrow strips of cloth, soak them in water then put them across the bottom, making sure they hang down all the way to the bottom of the trough. This will provide a larger area for the water to evaporate from and increase humidity

Then for lockdown fill both troughs and use more strips of cloth...

Mine arrived yesterday and is set up for stabilization. So far it holds the set temperature very well. The DH is intrigued with the egg rails and the way the turner works.

We'll have to put some test eggs in early next week.

Has anyone thought about plugging the drainage holes on the inside. I have trouble with getting humidity up. I put more water in, go to turn it and it leaks out the holes....

I love mine so much, I bought a second one! Just wish they held more eggs! Maybe I will be another one!

I even hatch geese in them, it is a tight fit, but they make it!!

I think the holes are necessary for proper oxygen levels so the eggs can breathe.

I not only use paper towels partly into the water troughs, but also leave one folded up under the top air hole. I add water to that towel with a coffee-stirring straw. Helps bump the humidity a bit more whens someone looks sticky.

I too have the eco 20 and LOVE IT!

I am now on my third hatch with it in the last two months. I chose to use the glass therm that came with it with the back up of a smaller glass therm that is attached to the clear plastic, I just lay it on top of the eggs. During regular incubation I only fill one water channel and for lockdown I fill them both. When it comes to lockdown I cover all the under screw holes and drain holes with painters tape. I also cover the little hole at the top the has the tear drop by it. I keep the vent open only 1/3 of the way and my humidity stays great! I will gradually open the vent as chicks start to arrive as they naturally bump up the humidity. I have had very good hatch rate success with it and temp holds wonderful. The key is to NOT open it at all during lockdown till all your eggs are done. I am actually looking for a second one.
