Brinsea Mini Advance Incubator

Update: So far one chick did break out of the egg and so far looks good :ya

We removed the extra water as it brought it back up to humidity quickly and we didn't want the chick to drown. A second egg is wiggling, but after the bad rotation it hasn't pipped again. Fingers crossed!

I tried to be fair when posting our experience with the Brinsea Minis. Unhappy, but fair.

We are going to start looking at, or even making, other options.

Thanks to all for the concern and good wishes! DD is very excited at her first chick!

Shoot. I filled both pots during incubation here, and I'm now on day 16. Is this going to be a problem? The first time I used it, I didn't know about the pots (borrowed it from a friend and she didn't have the manual), so I just put a paper towel in there with water on it. chicks hatched out fine. now I wonder if it is too much humidity and they'll be ruined.

No one has posted in a while, so I am hoping someone sees this and has an answer for me

!!! I just bought the Brinsea Eco Mini, and i am wondering about the humidity. For the first 18 days do I fill just one half of the water reservoir? Then on days 19-21 fill both sides? Please someone read this and let me know !!!!

Thank you in advance :)

You will love it. First incubator I owned and fool-proof. I'd be happy to answer any questions about settings when you get it. Only complaint I have is the turning alarm but you can silence it easily.

Yep, you will love it. I fill one reservoir the first 18 days, waiting until it's empty before refilling. Then, for the last 3 days, I fill up both sides, and try to keep my hands off til babies come.

Hi all,
I'm getting ready to hatch again with my Brinsea. The first hatch I had was great, 100%. The second one was not so great, with only 2 hatched out of 18 set. The first time I only put water in once, at the very start, thinking that it was full the entire time... I thought I ruined my hatch, but when I candled right before lock down, everything was alive and kicking. Of course I filled both reservoirs for lock down, and boom, next morning I had 7 very squished and angry chicks in the incubator. Has anybody else tried to hatch like this with success? I'm thinking of doing it again, but would love input first.

I would like to add that depending on were you live you might have to adjust the amount of water. I live in FL.and there is no way I can fill the one side and keep the humidity were it needs to be its way to high like 65% so I have found I have to use a tiny cap off of a sample shampoo bottle to keep it were it needs to be. So my point is what works for might not for another it dose also depend on your climate, you might have to monitor it for a few days and adjust accordingly.
