Just ordered the brinsea mini eco II. Have not seen any comments on this incubator. I think it holds 10. Some of the eggs ordered are Bantam. Can I fit more in?

If they're bantam, then yes, you will be able to fit a few more in. If you have any more questions, I'm here for you lol

Another question. Day 23 here. Only 2 hatched yesterday they are getting cramped for space so I would like to take them out to brood. I'm afraid the other eggs died or were not fertile. Wondering if it's wise to open incubator. Would like to check unhatched eggs. Two problems are: the eggs were shipped and the best incubator I could afford was Brinsea Mini Eco II. I turned manually. They're different rare breed eggs.

I'm new to incubation, but I know enough to say that I would open the incubator and take out the newborns, then after the babies are safe and warm, then take a peek at the eggs and check for external pips. If there are no external pips, then take them out one by one and candle them (hold a bright light up to the fat end of the egg) and check for internal pips. If any are internally pipped, then quickly place them all back into the incubator as quickly as possible. If there aren't any internal pips, then continue to candle and look for veins and movement, or any other signs that they may still be alive. If it's hard to tell, then your best bet is to leave them alone for the next day or so, then check on them again. Remeber: Just because people say that they take 21 days, doesn't mean that's always the case. They can hatch as early as day 16, or as late as day 28! I wouldn't give up on them til at least day 28. If it's past day 30, then I don't think they'll make it. But, you never know, they may still live! Sorry I couldn't be of more help :( goodluck, please keep me updated, if at all possible.

I'm a hands on hatcher, so I am always opening the incubator during hatch. If they're looking cramped, go ahead and open the incubator and take them out. Feel free to also candle the other eggs to see how they're doing. Just try to get the humidity back up quickly after opening if you have any external pips in there.
