BRM's Bunny Thread! ❤️🐰❤️

Any way you could move the rabbits inside and let them free roam to prevent this from happening in the future?
She was being quarantined from the rest of my herd since she was newer. She was on the deck in a large hutch. The deck is in the sun morning and part afternoon, she had shade in the hutch to get out of the sun. I think that's what really attracted the flies. She was also 5ish feet from the small quail grow out pen which probably attracted some flies as well. And then she was housed with her sister and a very young buck. I cleaned the hutch almost daily, but I noticed today that their hay from that night was slightly damp, which also attracted flies. The other rabbits seem to be fine, I've checked them as thoroughly as I can without shaving them.

Our rabbit hutches are in the shade and out of the sun, near the chickens who of course take out a ton of those flies! We have never had to deal with that problem until now. Quite a lesson to learn, sorry I had to happen in that way.

I would love to free roam some day! But for now, the rabbits are happy and safe outdoors. If for any reason their health was threatened being out doors, they would definitely come in. They are very well loved and cared for :)

I was palpating Chai today, due the 5th, and she actually seems pretty promising! I think I can feel quite a few kits! I felt Cas and Lorelei to compare what they should feel like. I just hope she has kits, just so I know this Mir and Cas thing isn't on Caspian 🤣
