Yes, sadly I don’t plan on taking over if she fails to mother this time. Seems so sad to do but I’ll just let nature take its course. Since she’s interested in the nest box, I’m hopeful. I’m just going to check on her often and make sure she uses the nest box and doesn’t have them on the wire. If they are on the wire, I’ll attempt to put them in the box but if she doesn’t feed them then I’ll just let it be.

Ok I’m no good at this waiting game! The anticipation kills me haha. Let’s do a “kit” baby pool. Post when you think babies will be born and how many for Willow and Lilly!

Lilly due 10/27 (second litter, first was unsuccessful)

Willow due 11/04 (first litter)

Lilly due 10/27 (second litter, first was unsuccessful)

Willow due 11/04 (first litter)

I think Lilly will have them tomorrow night and that she will have 7!

Willow will have them at night on the third and she will have 5!

Lilly dug out her nest last night (pushed all the hay to the front of the box) and dug all the way to the bottom and started chewing up the cardboard I don’t think she’s actually nesting. I need to find some rabbits that are great nest builders, like 2-3 day in advance just so it makes me feel better hahaha.

I wouldn't say she isn't nesting, Mirabelle literally plays in it all day and makes, like, a million different nests when she thinks or is pregnant, when Mopsy made a tiny hole and was all good. I think it really varies and depends!

I hope that’s the case for her. It’s just stressful to watch her hahaha. If she’d pull a little bit of fur it’d make me feel better. But Quinn didn’t pull any either until she had them.
