I initially thought (hoped) the pictures were fake/photoshopped. If those are real chickens . . . yikes.
That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw that picture. That these things can't be real. But apparently they are. Or it's all one big April Fools Joke.

Those chickens are real. A no longer active member of the sister gardening forum had a long thread about the one she called Rudy. You might enjoy reading it. They are not practical, she knitted him clothing to keep him warm, and they take work. But they are real.

They were developed for hot climates to cut down on mortality rate of conventional Cornish crosses. The downsides were that they needed protection from the sun as they have no feathers.
How did she acquire Rudy?
I haven’t read the attached thread as I’m catching up on my notifications.
According to her first post, she inadvertently bred two chickens who both had the recessive gene necessary to create a featherless chicken.
