Broken egg still alive and beating all odds?

I would be worried about the membrane drying out because it looks like you may have a little ways to go. I don't currently have turkeys, but I used to and dry membranes under broody turkey moms were probably the single biggest hatch issue I ran into.
Without that section of the shell to hold in normal moisture levels like a full shell, I would be concerned about it.While I love coconut oil, it isn't the same as a barrier.
Hopefully others will chime in.
That makes sense. I️ have noticed that yesterday I️ was able to see the individual parts of the poult and the yolk sac. Today I️ can see it moving but I️ can’t see anything under the veins. I’m not sure whether that is because it has grown or because it has repositioned itself. Could be something else though. All of this is a play it by ear scenario.
Thank you!

Hello everyone and thank you all again for your replies. I️ have an update and picture for tonight.

This is the egg right now:

Maybe it’s just me, but does it look like it is starting to absorb it’s veins or is it drying out?

It is no longer thrashing around in the egg but is slowly swaying side to side in the egg.
I️ decided to place SaranWrap over the top just to help with temp maintenance and give so extra protection.

Does anyone know what day they start absorbing their veins because I️ feel like it might be a couple days early.

Also, @Kiki you never got back to me about how you would like me to candle the egg. Let me know and I️ can do it anytime tomorrow, the room is dark.

Final Thoughts:
Is there a way to estimate what day the poult will be internally pipping? I️ would like to keep an eye on the plastic wrap over the top.

Thank you! I️ will post an update in the morning, hopefully with good news. 🤞🏻

Here is this morning:

I haven’t seen much movement but I’m pretty sure it’s still alive. The veins still look pretty red and overall it just looks fairly alive. I️ am pretty sure I️ saw it twitch earlier. I️ am thinking that I️ will have to assist with hatching at some point because it appears that the poult is Mal-positioned with its beak toward the bottom. I️ just am not sure what I️ am waiting for now. It appears that most of the veins have been absorbed.

Do the babies move less in the egg in the days leading up to hatching, due to the size of the poult and how fast it’s growing?

I️ still am slightly concerned based on the lack of movement I’m seeing, but I’m going to just leave it alone for now because it might just be sleeping.

Yes..it becomes hard to see movement once the chick gets larger and fills up the egg.
Your doing all you can really do at this point. I would Just wait and see if it pips that membrane.

Ok thank you, I’m not sure how this will go. I️ still haven’t seen much movement since my earlier post. I️ will take a look at that link

It's my understanding that the chick does not start absorbing the yolk sack until it internally pips and begins breathing air.
So..I am not sure what to tell you to do If it doesn't pip the membrane on it's own.

Ok so it started displaying obvious signs that the poult didn’t survive (smelly and discoloration). I’m going to give it some time then possibly do and eggtopsy. I️ want to be 100% sure that it’s dead. 😕 bummer.
