Broken egg still alive and beating all odds?

Though, usually my poults end up with yellow down on the head and tips of wings, but this one is white šŸ¤” interesting.
Here is the yellow Iļø was talking about. This is a pic from last years hatch.

So Iļø have a turkey hen sitting on her nest of 23 eggs that are due on Friday. Not all of the eggs started getting incubated at the same time due to 2 hens laying in the same nest.

Yesterday morning Iļø found a turkey egg across the yard that was broken, the chicken hens were fussing about it. The egg was ice cold and the night before we had had freezing temps. There was no movement so Iļø was going to toss it but Iļø decided to shove it in the incubator Iļø already had running for a little while. Iļø forgot about it and didn’t end up checking it until last night. There was a ton of movement but the inner membrane was very dry. Iļø opened the shell more so that Iļø could moisten it with coconut oil. Iļø doubted that it would make it through the night. Iļø had it in my incubator in an egg carton to keep it upright.

Iļø woke up this morning to find that my incubator had died and the temperature was 63 degrees. Again there was no movement and now the inside had a different color than the night before. Iļø stuck it in our emergency Large incubator that we use as our brooder. Once again it started moving.

This poult really wants to live. šŸ˜…
It’s pretty cool because now Iļø can view what’s going on in the egg. It appears that the egg has a saddle air sac.

My questions are:
• When should Iļø expect to see that the veins have been absorbed?
• What day will the poult be expected to pip?
• Can the poult hatch in a vertical position?
• Will it need to be helped out?
• What day of development does it look like it’s on?

Sorry for the long post!
Thank you in advance!
I have had several make it through this. Good luck!

Did your chick make it? The picture was really awesome!
No Iļøt didn’t, but Iļø have a new buddy from the same clutch.

This is Jazz:

Jazz hatched 3 days earlier than the rest and is very tiny compared to the younger ones. Only about the size of my pinky finger when my finger is straight. The first few days she was barely moving and wasn’t making any noise. She is with another baby in the incubator but as soon as Iļø set her down she screams and paces. Not sure how I’m going to get sleep since she has taken it upon herself to scream for me all night šŸ˜…. Iļø have never seen a bird lay on their back and play dead when they are scared but whenever there is a loud noise that is what she does. As soon as Iļø pick her up she flops over and passes out. Iļø wish Iļø could sleep like that. I’m really hoping it’s a female so that we can keep her.

Thanks!
