Brood single chick alone or with 7-week-old chicks?

Which would be better?

I only have one egg that has developed after a hatching egg order got scrambled by the shipping. Assuming this little guy hatches, it will be alone for a week until my next batch hatches. Alternatively, I could stick it in with 7-week-old chicks but I’m assuming that wouldn’t be safe...?

If I brood the chick alone for its first week it will have visual access to hens and older chicks through poultry wire.

I’m thinking alone would be safer but I just feel badly for it.

Any experience with a day old chick in with 7-week-olds?

Thanks

It's probably a better candidate for the next batch (1 week difference) instead of being with 7 week olds which are going to be much bigger and a trampling/picking risk. I think giving it visual access to the other chickens will suffice until the new chicks hatch.

Yes, that’s my concern too. I’ll err on the side of social depravation rather than physical harm. We’ll give it stuffies and spend lots of time with it. Thank you!
