Brooder questions

I would LOVE to see pics,
This was the basic idea- keeping in mind that my coop wasn't built as fast as I intended with that first group of chicks. I just made rectangular shapes with the pvc to fit, then used zip-ties to attach the green mesh onto the frames. Keep in mind this was inside the house, so there were no predator issues aside from keeping our cats out. So there were tarps under the rubber mats to protect carpet. Anywhere drywall could have been exposed, I used plywood covered with a sheet to keep their beaks from turning the drywall into a pile of rubble.

The wood was initially a structure for tying up the sweeter heater, later turned into a perch.

I would LOVE to see pics, if you have some!
Sorry for the pics but was holding my granddaughter. Start them in the plastic bin then use wooden one for standard breeds and the blue/yellow one for small breeds including quail. Have a trough in the pole barn that I use as well. First preference is for a broody I put in a separate small coop adjacent to the large coops. Currently have 21 Silkie chicks and 30ish mixed breeds, 3 days to 4 weeks old. Two weeks until the next hatch 🐣.

Fantastic set up!
👏👏👏

I know this is a bit later, but, I have incubator and broody chicken hatched chicks and quail. My city setup was the deep plastic bin for a month and then soft sided puppy pen sitting in and old sheet and puppy training pads on the floor one side for the food&water. I live on a rural hobby farm now🤩🥰

For the Easter egg hatch contest, I’m hatching Bobwhite quail so today I made shorter bin brooder boxes for the first 2-weeks and as they grow, 3-4weeks they can be thinned out into 4 bins. They will be inside a warm room. The shorter bins means keeping warm better.

Their feather growth depends on movement to the larger grow out hutches & pens.
