I need to order another incubator soon. My GFQ Hovabator is 4 years old. My MagicFly (which, works like 100000 times better) is 2 or 3 years old. I definitely need to replace the Hovabator, it has heat spikes way too often so I rarely use it now.

I hate incubating eggs by incubator because my hens do sooo much better. Though quail I incubate myself - my chickens would crush the eggs :gig
I had a very clumsy hen one year who I had sitting on eggs. She crushed two babies that weren't ready to hatch, they were crushed in their shell with half unabsorbed yolk still. I took the two surving eggs, & hatched them in a brooder box with a heat lamp, & wet paper towels. It worked good, only done it 3 times though. They lived, & hatched without an issue. One chick I managed to save that she stepped on while it was hatching. It was bleeding lots, but I managed to stop the bleeding, & put in the brooder with the others.

I have one that likes to try cooking my unhatched chicks. Spiked to 106°F a few times.

Ohh. Neat.
