So I saw this "thing" today while websurfing...I laughed out loud, then.....I got thinking. Maybe this would make a great brooder?
Someone tell me because I've never had a broody except once when one of my Porcelain's had a hatch under the porch steps.
Now, this Eglu is $740 bucks! WHEW! But if you had one of those dog igloo things and you could build a framework for a hardware cloth/chicken wire run....wouldn't it work?

Yes I have laughed at that thing many times myself! Do you think anyone actually buys those things?
I guess someone is if they are offering them for sale. But yes, you could use any dog house type structure add chicken wire or hardware cloth to a framework around it for a run and that works for maybe a couple of chickens.
As for a broody house though, personally I use an old kitchen cabinet that I hung in the coop about 6 inches off of the floor. I cut 12"x12" holes in the cabinet doors added chicken wire over the holes I just cut, added a slide bolt lock to insure that the other chickens could not open the doors, get it there and knock over her little waterer and eat her food, and she loves it!
Best part is you can usually find these old cabinets on craigslist for free or next to nothing!
