We got 40 chicks this spring and 3 ended up being roosters we don’t care and are keeping them one started to crow about 3 weeks ago and I think we are getting some fertilized eggs I plan on putting about 8 under her. Are these fertile. These spots have started to show up in the last week. Can you get her chicks? And then sell them?
Those look like fertilized germination discs. I would stick a few under her and candle them after 10 days.We got 40 chicks this spring and 3 ended up being roosters we don’t care and are keeping them one started to crow about 3 weeks ago and I think we are getting some fertilized eggs I plan on putting about 8 under her. Really doesn't hurt them to be in the breaker for a week or two if that's what's needed. I have a hen that's become a serial broody, and doesn't break easily. So she goes broody, takes about 5-7 days to break, resumes laying in about 2 weeks, lays 3-5 eggs, and starts going broody again. For how long before I give up? A week? What's the typical safe timeframe?
