Hi! I am sure this question has been asked before but I couldn't find it. I have 2 Australorp hens. They were added to my flock as babies in March. They are roughly 7 months old. 1 of them has been on the nest for 3 days now. I have removed her over and over despite her horrid screeching and pecks. I just put her in a wire cage out in the run with food, water and no nest material.
1) Isn't she too young to be broody?
2) How long should I leave her there?
3) Should I put her on the roost at night and return her to the cage at daybreak?
Thanks!

1) Nope - I've had 3 pullets go broody at 7 months old.
2) About a week - If she goes back to the nest then put her back in it.
3) Depends on where the cage is. If you can, leave her in the cage day and night - assuming it's in the coop or some other predator safe area.
