broody chicken or not

when i put my chickens to bed tonight my pekin was in the nestbox and it looked like she was laying an egg but she has already layed one today. she usually sleeps on the roosting bars and when i went near her she made a very high pitched long noise it sounded like she was screaming at me. is this a sign of broodiness????

Did she puff up her feathers and look really, really mean, at the same time? She's probably broody.

if you don't want her to hatch eggs get her out of that box and in a wire floor cage, the longer you wait the harder it will be to get her to stop, generally for evey day broody it takes at least 2 to break (stop) her
