Broody goose wont get off the nest.

Sounds like everything is going good now.

Look forward to hearing about the eggs when you candle. so exciting.

Yes I am happy with her, she looks so much better than she did a week ago. I'm glad you told me to get her off, it's like she didn't know how to until I did it for her for a few days. Maybe I proved to her i wouldn't take her eggs if she got off like I did to the flooded ones.
I am super excited at the prospect of goslings too, not getting my hopes up as its her first season though :)

My goose would let me pick her up and I'd sit her outside her house she was like in a trance because she doesn't even want me to touch her , then it would be like she'd come to herself get up and eat and take a swim and yep boy that poo.

Hopefully she'll get to be a mommy so much joy in watching them raise their babies.

Yes! It's like the come to their senses after a minute as you say, strange to watch.

I have this lil cochin bantam hen Miss Kitty she is an awesome broody and mama scared to death of her own shadow when not broody but when she is I can pet and rub on her while she is on the nest. Only time I can give her a snuggle. She is such a meanie though always picks on the young chickens when they go it to roost. Sometimes I squirt her with the water bottle to make her stop.

Awe haha that's funny! I have only experienced my MIL's broody silkies and they were nasty! Lol

My mother Araucana(crossed with something mystery I'd love to know what!) who hatched chicks that I got with her when they were 4 weeks is such a big fat bossy boots lol I think she may go broody soon she is sitting longer each day in the nest box. This is her with her now laying daughter squabbling with her over the best nest box even though there is an identical empty one next to it :lau
I will have to remember the squirty bottle of she gets too nasty lolol

That is hilarious and so true I have many nest boxes also but if one is in "that special nest box" the others will stand outside and scream till the one hurries and lays her egg so they can have it.

I love mine when they are in the "zone" I may get a peck but It's so cool to be able to pet them while they are sitting.

Aren't they so funny. Pretty hens too.
