Pippin needed extra help- chicks are too big to all go under her!

Blue's not even laying yet and is already helping Pippin raise her chicks (like a 12yr old babysitter lol)

Juno is almost 6 weeks old. Mama weaned her at 4 weeks. She went from being pampered royalty to ‘you’re on your own kid.’ She keeps to herself and avoids the others. She seems fine but I would avoid this lonely situation in the future by giving the hen extra eggs just in case.

She turned into a beautiful partridge color.. she had the classic chipmunk pattern as a hatchling.




These were just before her wattles popped out. Just beautiful blue skin too!

I think Bato has weaned her chicks. 2nd night in a row she went into the main coop and the little ones stay on their own. I think they are big enough to stay warm now though. Time goes so fast!
