CoolI was told old English game duckwing bantams when I bought them.
Afraid not. I picked them up a 1/2 hour from our place. Go fig. Only thing I could think of was maybe the roo had a favourite(s) & the 6 eggs were from a hen that never got mated in the last month? I've got 2 other broodies on eggs I got from a different breeder (Malines) we also drove to. They're doing great so far! I just checked the last 3 BLRW eggs again. Bleah! I'm going to take 3 Malines out & give them to her. One more week won't kill her & she'll have something to show for it, I'm sure! I sent a note to the BLRW breeder about the failed eggs. Just for her information. I'm not looking for compensation. Crap happens.Shellz, were your eggs shipped? If anything disturbs the eggs before they're set, it could kill the embryo making the egg look like it's not fertile even so it was. Shipped eggs are notoriously difficult to hatch, and it has nothing to do with skill, but with luck. How gentile was the post office? That's it. Some eggs, such as Serama eggs, are especially delicate. I really hope those 3 hatch for you though!50% isn’t bad for shipped eggs! ![]()
