I think my Alice will be my chicken momma, she has been broody for months. She is always sitting on eggs, she gets all fluffed up and growls at me when I collect the eggs. When I put them back in the coop at night she runs right back to the nesting box. I might have a problem with her staying on them because she will be sitting on some of them but the others that are in other nesting boxes will be just sitting there and almost warm.
So will she go back to the nesting box if I put all the eggs in one of the boxes while the others are empty. She is usually in only one nest box religously, but not always. How can I make sure she will go back to a box that has eggs in it, if she goes to one that has nothing in there. Our weather is getting pretty even here, usually in the high 30s - low 50s in the day, at night low 20s. Everyone once in awhile we will get a 60 day and a teen night. What do you all think?
