Its the worst ! I keep looking for pepper. I lost all her pictures as well when my phone brokethere are more on this sight. They were all good hens! Just awful the way it happened !! With the response I got from my neighbors in front of my kids ! I think most people think they are just our egg producers not our pets. Thank you for being kind.![]()
Quote: Yes, I have had food and water within reach for her at all times, she has just been so out of it she rarely eats or drinks. I just checked on her and one of the chicks has hatched and another is pipping. I'm not going to mess with her at all, especially now that chicks are hatching. She's just so pale, I wondered if it was a problem. She did eat today and is far more animated than she has been for the whole time. I'm assuming it's because the chicks are hatching.![]()
Hi. I have 2 year Old bantam hen. Its her first year she is brooding her eggs. She's been laying on them for over a months. She started with 2 eggs and now she has 5. So that means she laid 3 more. Her first 2 eggs never hatched.
We do have one more hen that we recently got so our white one can stay broody. Before she would only stay broody for 2 weeks and then leave her nest. Now she actually stays there. And this time she didn't nest in the coop but in between some aloe Vera plant. She comes out only to eat so we didn't get a chance to candle them. Th3 new hen does not get near her nest because they don't get along.
