Broody Hen Thread!

Yay! Got home from my class and three are out. All showgirls and so adorable. The other chickens are leaving them alone so far. I wanted to see how it goes keeping them together. It's just the rooster in there, the other broody, and two youngish chickens that are moving to their new home in a week and a half. The younger chickens stared at them for a while, but didn't even attempt to peck them. The rooster has ignored them and the broody is in her own lala land.

Congrats Nchls school you will Love those turkeys the sweetest feathered babies ever.
But nine is not enough. We're still hoping you'll have eggs to sell.

They sure are different compared to chicks. Much quicker to trust and socialize; an open brooder door is an invitation for all nine to tumble out and be friendly-all over and everywhere-much to the broody hens' dismay.

So excited! All my babies except for one hatched. They are adorable little fluff balls! 3 silkies and 2 silkie, buff orpington cross. Excited to see how those turn out. Hoping for the personality of the silkie with a better egg laying ability for our personal flock lol
