Broody hen?!

Why in the world is my hen going broody now?! It's November and cold! Wouldn't the chicks die?

Some just always go broody. The hen will keep any chicks warm no matter what time of year. The only thing I would suggest this time of year is don't give her to many eggs to sit on. She needs to be able to fully set on all of them,

I have a little silkie hen setting eggs right now! I am excited for winter chicks that I don't have to care for!

Well, I've been moving her off the eggs everyday so far. She's quite ****** at me,lol she's quite the egg hoarder too! She's a good mom though raised 3 chicks this spring. Not sure I want to let her go though, all I can think of is something going wrong and I find frozen dead chicks
