It's been getting close to a month and a half since we gave away our aggressive rooster.Ever since then, one of my little Silkies (Tilly) who was with him constantly while the other was broody (Hatti), has not laid any eggs,is sitting inside the coop everyday.I go in each afternoon and pick her up and carry her out side.I also take another hen(Tessa) that is broody and take her out.(I have three hens.)The little broody one (Tilly) is a stinker. She goes after the other broody hen (Tessa , who we got when we took the rooster back) but does not bother the one that isn't (Hatti) In fact they get along good, like they ever did. Before the new one went broody, (Tessa)she and our first hen (Hatti) got along great. Now, ever since Tilly ( the stinker) went broody, she isn't as nice to her either. She (Hatti)isn't as nasty as Tilly though. Do broody hens pick at one another or is Tilly in her little chicken brain, being resentful of Tessa as she was the roosters replacement?.I know it sounds weird, but it's almost like she is ticked off and is pouting.Hatti is getting lonely while the other are sitting in the coop. This seems a little excessive for Tilly to be broody. Any ideas?
