I just set four fertilized eggs under a determined broody pullet. It’s my first year into chicken keeping. Wish me luck. Advice needed! I’ll be updating daily!

Day 1:
Broody Pullet was moved to a secure location inside the coop last night(so others will leave her and nest alone). She hasn’t moved once today. Very content with sitting on eggs.

Witnessed my first broody poop today. Holy foul! I was concerned as yesterday she didn’t leave the nest once. She stretched her legs, went to the bathroom and straight back to the nest this afternoon. She’s determined!

No update yesterday, my girl didn’t move once. Today she moved around on the nest, but not much off it. I don’t think she’s been eating and drinking near at all! Is this normal?

my broody pullet (chicks now 2 1/2 weeks old) only left the nest for 20-30 mins a day when she was sitting; she spent more of that time preening, dust-bathing and stretching than she did eating, drinking or pooing, and all was well, so I wouldn't worry if I were you :)
