hi
I have a broody silkie chicken was sitting on 8 eggs for first time and I removed her eggs as they are not fertile
she keeps biting her fingers until bleeding I think it is a broody problem
what shoul I do and she keeps sitting also how to make her not sitting and range and eat like normal
thanks

You may want to check her skin all over for tiny bugs that could be lice or mites. There are many pictures of what to look for by Googling "lice and mites in chickens." To break a broody hen, it is best to place them in a pen with a dirt or grass floor, and a roost, but no bedding for around 5 days. I will usually bring along a friend for company, and place food and water in the pen. Some chopped egg mixed with a little plain yogurt will help increase the protein and give probiotics for immunity. A little chopped up kale or scratch as a treat to peck at is also welcome.
