TL;DR: things are happening!
This is Maizie.
Maizie is a silkie.
Maizie is broody. Not a surprise.
I have chicks inside from Cackle that are in isolation after being mailed, as well as 3 incubators of eggs waiting to hatch. Due to my... egg-aquiring opportunities, this will be a staggered hatch.
As of 5/17 we have 9 Cemani at day 16, and 4 CCL/4 Mille Fleur D'uccles at day 9.
I'm inclined to give little Maizie the 8 (possible) chicks from the last incubator, especially since 4 will be so much smaller. Little bit worried that the CCL may pick on them, too.
This will be my first (possible, I know!) hatch of really small birds. Advice on raising them with bigger chicks?
And yes, Maizie will have some chicks in a little bit. Just not sure which ones!
