Broody sisters advice

t just depends on the chick I have been sucsessful and many other have at raising broody together.

These ones may do fine

I had a bantam (2nd highest in order)
And a cochin (lower in order)
Raise keets together higher one and did day duty whale the other one took nightime duty

We are getting chicks. Unfortunately i have no where to put Ooga the rooster unless I lock him out in the run or in a dog crate. Are you thinking he might hurt the chicks? I will watch them for awhile after introducing them to make sure everything is ok. I've read all the threads i could find on here about adopting chicks to a broody hen. If not I'll have a brooder ready. BUT everything is going to be fine

IT WORKED!!!:yesss:
I ended up trying before the storm came about 5pm with everyine still in the cube. Blue, the original broody took them np. Her sister pecked at hers and then at blues. So I took all the chicks put them back in the brooder and took blue and put her in a dog crate in my breeseway (my main brooder). I waited till 1030pm or you know when I finally got the baby to sleep and tried again. Blue took all 6 over the course of 30mins. I watched her for about 30 more minutes and we checked on her a couple more times throughout the night. This morning 3 of the chicks were up and eating and blue was clucking to them. I think I'll wait till tomorrow to put her back in the cube though. I left the other hen with the eggs, hopefully she'll want to co-raise instead of hatching eggs.
