broody to incubator?

My family has decided that no more chickens, and I've had one fertile egg under my hen!! I have to break her broodiness today, is it safe to change the 17 day old egg in an incubator?It's a bantam and a regular chicken mix. Please give me answers, it has to happen today.

Im confused: No more chickens? How will moving a hatching egg from broody to incubator impact this? And yes you should be able to move a fertile egg from a broody to an incubator as long as incubator is set up and temperature has stabilized.

I'm giving the chick to a friend, and I can't let my hen have to care for the chickand it will be at our house for way too long.

OH ok makes more sense LOL If you can, it would be alot more safe & easy to let momma hatch it then give it to your friend to raise once hatched? Its really hard to raise just one alone though and integrate into a flock.
