Brown Chinese or African?

I remember you posting about your gosling. I’d love to See pics of them all.
Here are some pictures of my white Chinese. (The gosling in the pictures with them is unfortunately the one that had to be put down, it was heartbreaking)

Wow how beautiful!! and what a beautiful place you have there for them all and yourself. Are you in the south? And looks like a huge lake or pond. Lovely!! Happy New Year!

That little gosling sure was precious I am sorry you had to lose him. :hugs
Thank you! Yes, we are located in the south, no snow down here. :lol:
Happy New Year to you too!
Thanks :hugs

Yesterday I picked up three female geese for my sixth month old African gander. The people I bought them from said they did not know what breeds they were and were just helping a friend sell them. I thought two of the females were Africans but when I got them home and compared them to my gander their frames seemed too petite to be Africans. However, I would like to hear more opinions since I’m fairly new to this breed. I also have two pairs of White Chinese and they do resemble my two white females so my second thought was that they could be brown Chinese. The other female I got appears to be an American Buff or Buff Toulouse, but I’m not sure how to tell the difference? The people said they were hatched in spring so I’m guessing they’re around 7-8 months, possibly nine, but I’m not positive. Any suggestions or opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

@Gray Farms, @Pyxis, any ideas?

Hey there nice geese, they're brown Chinese and an American buff.

Buff toulouse look bigger and heavier even at a young age.
Ok awesome, thank you for your reply. What about the gander? He was sold to me as an African but now I’m having second thoughts since true Africans seem harder to come by. Do you think he is also a brown Chinese or really is an African?

I think he's a purebred African with him looking good already being so young.

He can also be an AfricanXChinese but I have a strong feeling he's a pure breed.

Nice gander!

hi there the one is defiantly a American buff I have 5 of them also I have three production Africans that look like the others . Mine don't look any thing like my Africans that I got from Holderread . but they are good layers. I wish I could post pictures but I don't have any on this computer. beautiful birds.
