brown growth below vent on BO chick

Hello everyone. I'm new here and I'd appreciate any help. My chick has a growth below the vent that is shaped like a little round brown ball. At first I though it was coming from the vent but it isn't. The only thing that I've done is massage the area with olive oil applied to a q-tip, in order to try and loosen it. It doesn't budge. There isn't any blood coming from it. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
