Bubbles in chickens eye please help.

Foam in the eye is sometimes a symptom of mycoplasma (MG,) a respiratory disease. The Tylan 50 injectable should not be diluted in water, but you can give it orally. If she weighs 5 pounds, you would give her 1 ml orally twice a day for 5 days. How much were you putting in her water? They make a Tylan Soluble Powder which is what your vet should have given you to use. Follow the directions I gave for the Tylan 50. Look into the eye to see if there is any foreign body, and marks or dirt. Apply Terramycin eye ointment to her eye twice daily after cleaning it. Are the pictures up to date?

I think I would try the eye drops. It does seem to be more of an irritant over infection.

You could try flushing it. See if that helps. Then try the steroid drops if it seems inflamed.

They don't make chicken cones that I know of. LOL

She weighs only 2 pounds. I weighed her the day I gave her a shot. The pic is from tonight. I was putting 6ml of the Tylan50 in 1qt of water per the vet. What dosage do you recommend for this size? And how do you give orally? I have used an eye wash and antibiotic gel I got from tractor supply. I have done this only 1x today but in the past days I have done it 2x-3xs per day. Any way we can exclude MG?

Where can you get terramycin eye drops? And are those steroids too? If not what steroids?

And I wish they did. It might help her. Ha ha

I could see the growth. It began very small, the size of a pea, growing slowly over the years. It's now an inch and covers that entire side of her head over her eye. If it's not benign, it hasn't seemed to have metastasized. She wouldn't be nine going on ten years old if it was a cancer. I did expect her to go blind from it, but that hasn't happened. The swelling is only temporary. That disappears after treatment with the steroid drops.

X2

@Mwrutledge Eggcessive has given you some good information.
If your girl weighs 2lbs. this will translate to .40ml of Tylan50 given 2 times a day. You can give it to her orally with your syringe.
I would continue to rinse the eye with saline, inspecting it carefully for any foreign matter. Terramycin eye ointment can sometimes be found at Tractor Supply or you can call the vet to see if they will prescribe you antibiotic or steroid eye ointment.

At this time, if it were me, I would not rule out the possibility of Mycoplasma. It could be a cyst, tumor or infection from something else, but without testing, it would be wise to treat, quarantine and practice bio-security to help reduce the spread of illness. Having a swab tested would be a good idea. https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...e-sinus-lump-swelling-cure-treatment.1156995/

Mycoplasma can be very difficult to test for according to a microbiologist friend. He once had MG himself, and he said that it is rare to get a positive test result. If a chicken has a necropsy done by a vet, they would do lab testing, but also will look at symptoms and tissue to diagnose.

As Casportpony posted, Tylan is safe in larger dosages. Eye bubbles and foam can be a result of trauma, infection, blockage of tear duct, and I have even seen it in a hen with a feathery face during very cold weather. Hers clears up as the day warms, and she was treated twice with Tylan although never having other signs of illness.

Azygous's hen with the tumor is similar to another BYCer's rooster with a large tumor. The man treated with multiple drugs, looked and loked for pus, had the rooster to a good vet, and was told it was tumor. So MG is not the only possible cause of eye foam, but a common cause.
