Some Birds die and some are just carriers...It depends how badly they get infected..I run heat for my Birds..Without it they would die or continually show symptoms when stressed..Your Chicks are showing symptoms because of stress...

This upsets me. I have over $150 in these 9 birds. I messaged the breeder but haven’t heard anything back. So is it legal to sell birds with respiratory problems or carriers?

I had $400 invested in my Birds...Culling might not be an option?..I was told to Cull or close my Flock..

Nothing in or out? I hate to cull these but I also hate to feed them and them be problems the whole time. All my other chickens are in the same area.

Okay....What you need to understand is Respritory is contagious...Extremely..All Birds are carriers of disease...Once you start mixing Birds, your asking for disease transfer..Respritory can pass in two days from group to group..Think of it this way, all Birds have it..Now you have to deal with it..It can be managed as I do but it takes commitment or you Cull all and wait 6 weeks ..Totally clean Coop..Its never easy to decide..

I understand it’s contagious. Is it bird to bird, fomite, in the air. How does it spread? I don’t want my others infected. Or the coops for that matter. It will always be there with these chicks right?

It spreads by a cough..Gets on your shoes and so easily transferred from Bird to Bird...Yes...If you touch them and then go out to the other Coop, chances are high it's already spread ...

Yes....They are carriers for disease..Respritory , so yes, for life they have it..It never goes away..Stress will bring it out..
