i have one chicken with a runny eye and i think its her witht the runny poo. and her sister seems to be breathing heavy. it is very cold here, like 10 degrees and the coop could use a cleaning. any suggestions as to what may be going on? could it just be a cold?

Is her head swollen? Also do you see any ocular or nasal discharge?

It could a respiratory problem. If so you need to consult a vet

Chickens in general don't get colds IMHO, look up CRD.

If air quality is poor in the coop though that can cause them respritory troubles. Cleaning the coop out with clean dry bedding and good venting might be a first step to see if that helps.

Bubbles, look at coryza and MG.

The cold won't give it to them, but the stress of the cold can contribute to an active outbreak of an otherwis dormant condition.

Go to a good feed store, and get some eye medicine. They say it works wonders.
