In truth, I do have an alterior motive: attracting more Buckeye breeders! Posting lots of photos of beautiful Buckeyes will gain even more attention to the breed.

I just got my Buckeyes a little over a week ago. As I posted earlier, I was able to get a quartet of three hens and a roo.

I immediately filled up the incubator, then ordered more eggs from BuckeyeDave (looking forward to them) and talked to a breeder here in WV to order some chicks to diversify my flock.

I've already sold any chicks that result from this hatch and gotten an order for a dz eggs to be shipped to NC.

I guess you could say that I've jumped into Buckeye breeding with both feet lol. I love these birds.

I will try to get some photos of the actual birds. She bought the exhibition birds from a breeder at the Avoca IA show. I could probably dig up a name--he said his original birds came from Ohio (surprise, surprise). I don't know that they are anything special. We raised 40ish last year and culled down to just the three youngsters with the thought of showing them early this year.

I don't know what she's asking for them, but I will try to get info. She is off with the fiance this weekend, but will be back first of the week. She is in LUUUV and it is hard to get ther to focus on the birds.

The young hen and the young roos are not quite a year old--I should have an excact hatch date in the 'bator calendar at home. The older hens were laying well last year--I haven't gone out to see how they are doing this year. I do not think thay are over 3 years old.

I will be at Ohio National this year, but I would really rather not hang onto them that long. My sister is getting married Aug.7th, so I'd like them gone by July. I do not want to chore these birds this winter.

Thanks!

If we decide to get them, they would be out of your hair sometime in May. Let us know when you find out.

Tell her congrats and we wish her the best!

Maybe Dave wants to race ;-) I'll need the headstart.
