Any of you Buckeye Breeders going to the Ohio National next month? Does anyone have a nice trio they could sell me, or even some chicks? I could pay in advance, and meet you at the show,

Sharon

Sharon, pm me, Sydney and I will be there and we may have an extra trio to part with. Sydney will have some very nice birds at the ohio nationals.

Eh, sure...I'm neighbors with Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Washington, Oregon...

Well, that narrows it down a little bit, not well though.
If you are looking for shipped eggs, the clser the better.
That said, I have ordered & recieved fine shipments from Florida, so now you just need to find a breeder close to you, and contact them to order what you are looking for.
Hope this helps.

I'm working on getting some buckeye eggs from a great friend of mine, can't wait to incubate them

Good luck with them, are you going to keep them in the house this winter?

I am getting mine the first part of April I am hoping, too much winter to go through yet here for little guys.

What are the main lines now for Buckeyes in the US?

I am getting up on some but I am sure there are many out there with strains/lines from different breeders. What I see is that I need to know a lot more about the history then I do other then Mrs Metcalf originating them. I do know she introduced some RIR into them, where did they go from her and who developed known lines?

Incorrect. Buckeyes were not created using RI Red blood, a common misconception.
The more common and better (that I can think of) strains are: Rhodes; Urch; ALBC; ; McCary; Schrider; Barenger (sp?); Brown, and a few more.

Hope I helped,
Mitch
