LOVE the Buckeye pics!!!! Now I just need mine....

Back to the OP, please explain what is getting a breed added to the "pinned list"? Complete novice question, I know, but thought that I would ask it here. Thanks!!

As of today I'm closer to being a buckeye owner. I'm really excited. I got eggs from jenjscott and they look really nice. Wll put them in the bator in the am, wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smithzoo, I think she was referring to getting Pinned to the top, and we are listed in the sticky at the top of "Breeds, Genetics, and Showing" about "Breed Thread Discussion list"

Hello,
I am looking in to getting some more chicks this year, and this is one of the breeds I'm looking at. Can you tell me if they are good layers? Size and color of Brn. they are ? Do they get along with other breeds? I'v seen a site saying no and a book saying yes.? All info anyone can give would be great! Thanks for starting this. Can't wait to find out more about this very nice looking breed.

Soaring chicks, My Buckeyes have not been laying long, but they are supposed to be a good egg layer of medium eggs, but so far my girls are laying large light brown eggs. Like any chicken, if you want to put adults together there will be some problems. I have buckeyes roosters that free range with Orpington roos and bantams. Other than the occasional skirmish there aren't any problems. I did have problems when I tried to put roosters together in a pen that hadn't been raised together. You should read back through this thread, there is a lot of good information already here.

I asked permission of the staff of the BYC Forum, and they pinned the thread once I started it. It's meant for various breed threads.
