I went to a show in Casa Grande today, and no one had any Buckeyes. So, I'm thinkin' I will be the only one in this area to have Buckeyes come May. I can't wait!!!

You can try this, I don't know if it will work on an older chick, give a couple of drops of plain cod liver oil with an eye dropper twice a day for about 3 days. Make sure not to force it, just put it on the end of their beak and let them swallow it down. Usually, these problems reflect an incubator temperature problem.

Well, I've been sick for a few days, and yesterday my daughter told my husband his job was to make some chicken soup. So he pulled a 1/2 buckeye rooster out of the freezer and made some chicken soup with celery, carrots and potatoes, and I'm not sure what else. It sure was good.

Sorry to hear you were sick.

We moved the Buckeye chicks to the large coop. Placed cardboard on the floor and pine shavings. Placed an elctric themostatic heater on the shelf. They are staying real comfy, with plenty of room. Bought two rools of wire last week. We are getting ready to build pens so they will have plenty of room. Color si coming in real good. Have noticed a bit more deep red combs than I hoped for, but tahtw ill mean soup or dumplins for us. Jahdan took Nicole inside the coop yesterday. Will try to upload a photo later of Nicole with the Buckeye she caught. She was so excited to actually cautch one. Not hard when they walk all over you.

Yep. My one old hen (that I got from Matt) died, but I had some of her eggs saved (she was the only one laying.) Then one of the pullets started to lay, and while I don't normally set pullet eggs, I did this time. We'll see what I get.
