I’m finally learning my budgies’ breeding patterns and why I’ve lost so many babies over the last several months

My app doesn’t want me to reply…..but what I have observed is that when a female’s cere turns brown she is wanting to brood and willing to do anything to get into a near including killing the babies already hatched by another female!!

there are 2 active nests currently. 1 belongs to my original momma. the other is occupied by one of the albinos (i think bumbo) bumbo has a bunch of eggs but really just started sitting and Bella was on at least 6 eggs but only 1 hatchling. the baby is now over a week old. i’m hoping that no others raid her nest like they have in the past. i’ve been tempted to take the lone baby and try to hand feed it.

my 1 baby is a few weeks old now and looks to be another albino white. sooo adorable! i soo want to bring it inside and hand feed it but mr muddy won’t let me!!!

the second nest that one of my albinos has been setting has at least a dozen eggs with zero hatches yet

Relatively easy is an understatement 😂 just need to have 1 male and 1 female and give them a nest and they multiply faster than rabbits 😂
Well how come my one's didn't breed then!!!?? I even had them in a largish outdoor aviary. The stupid things used up all their energy by yelling at each other whilst they were no more than an inch apart. They's sure must have some tough old eardrums.
They were definitely male and female.
Perhaps the male was gay or something..
