They live in flocks in nature. There is a saying that says a lonely budgie is a depressed budgie. Id suggest doing research outside of just people's opinions. Personally, I would never have just one, but that's me .

Most people buy two because they feel bad about them not having a mate. Some people just don't have the time for one really needy budgie. It's all up to what you want, and have time for.

Okay...lol i decided to get 3..2 females and a male!!!!

The greenish one on the swing is the male by the way!!!

One of my males had a tumor behind his eye and after a week of me hand feeding him medicine and pain killers he had to be put to sleep, so I am down to three. (Quick note...if one of your budgies eyes looks like it is bulging more then the other, take him to the avian vet.) Anyways, my two girls and boy are a great combo. Their sweet budgie chatter (another reason to have more then one!) is like having a relaxing nature sounds cd on auto play! It's so relaxing (usually, except my boy, Rowdy, lives up to his name at times and can get loud lol. He quieted down the more he got used to his home). That's so exciting! Getting new pets doesn't happen very often, so have fun with it!! Keep us updated on how they are settling in! Congrats!!

The millet sprigs are huge and you can literally buy $20 worth at the pet store for what u get for $5 here
