To improve type, I bought a pair of show quality Buffs a while ago, and they're finally here!!

They are absolutely gorgeous!

Those are absolutely stunning! and no wonder why, I saw on the Cochin thread who you got them from. Since I am new to Cochins I have been searching the Cochin threads to see who had the nicest buffs and IMO his look like winners to me! Since the gene pool from this variety is small, do you think I should look at a different breeders buffs?

It sure wouldn't hurt. (Although I can recommend Tom!) I went to the Cochins International website and looked through the master breeder list. After the 1st of the year I'll send in for my membership & get a members directory. I think that's a good place to start

Thanks I'm a sucker for a pretty Cochin head, and seems like Tom's birds have nice heads. I'm really happy with my pair.
Actually now that I think about it, my trio from Lynne, my 2 cockerels from Dave and my cockerel from Danny ALL have nice pretty heads! No wonder I am so in love with this color.

I found this picture on google. What do you think of him? Anybody know who he belongs to?

I just looked it up. It belongs to Running Horse Farm in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. This is one is single factor barred, correct? I think both the single and the double barred are both gorgeous! Do you know what other breeds come in the Buff Barred variety?

Beautiful! I see that Sparky has no black leaking through but his son does on his tail. Will this molt out or take another generation? Remember, I know rabbit color genetics, but am just learning chicken genes so please bear with my questions.

The rules shouldn't be too far off, just different wording, right?
