Two of these came in our rare breed special from Murray McMurray and I'm leaning cochin. I have a brahma and it's just not screaming out brahma to me. We're happy either way. We have some really weird looking speckled ones but they headed straight for the brooder plate when we got them in the house and to the brooder and I'll post those once they're settled.

It's either a Dark Brahma or a Partridge Cochin. Dark Brahma have yellow feet well Partridge Cochin have blueish colored feet. Mind checking? I can't tell from the pictures.

Actually they're kind of pinkish blue. I don't know but to explain it. I can send a cropped image of the feet once I'm done with the outside critters. Thanks for replying đź’–.

Secondary reply. Here's the feet. Hope they're clear.

You should be able to tell if it's a straight comb by looking.. pea comb won't have the little tips. Brahma have pea combs and Cochin are straight.

Olive eggers also often end up with feathered feet/legs (when Marans are used in the cross).. and are included in many hatcheries "rare" assortments.. and may be pea or straight combed.

Congrats on your babies! :wee

I didn't know that. I'll have my mom peek at the comb but I think it was straight. I'll have to let her know that we might have an olive egger she's never seen the darker shades, just blue and a teal/very light green from our old ones that have since passed on. We've never had marans.
