Hi, there. I have five bantam buff Brahmas. My girls are Punkin', Pearl, Opal and Dumplin'. My boy is Dude. They are exactly 10 months old today, and Dude and Dumplin' are a little ratty looking from going through a molt. All of them started losing feathers at 9 months, but Dumplin' most of all.

Here is a photo of my favorite girls, Punkin' and Pearl, who are the best friends ever and who love each other very much and do everything together. They are also my prettiest girls and the nicest. Punkin' is on the right. She has a very pale comb and wattles, and her coloring has always been lighter than the others. I think she is a lovely chicken, with the most perfect tail. She is shy, and Pearl takes the lead in most things. Pearl is a huge sweetheart, too.

Dude is a very nice rooster so far. I couldn't be happier with him.

I like my Brahmas very much. They are very docile, and Punkin' and Pearl are just adorable.

Opal is not adorable. She is a mean, mean chicken, and she has to be separated from Punkin' and Pearl, because she would abuse them continually. This has taught me something, however, and much that I have read of hatchery chickens has proven true with this group. I don't believe a breeder would breed Opal, with her ornery temperament. She particularly abuses Punkin', who is terribly shy and timid.

Dumplin' is the only one who can stand, or stand up to, Opal. Dumplin' has also been meaner than I like to the other girls, so she is in the bad chicken pen with Opal. I'm not entirely certain what I plan for their future at this time.

I am getting some bantam Wyandottes tomorrow, and after that my plan is to get a few bantam dark Brahma chicks. I love the pattern of the hens, and the roosters are beautiful! If they are like my buffs in temperament and egg laying, I will be happy.

I have read that a buff rooster and a dark hen will produce sex-linked chicks. That would be fun! Purebred, sex-linked Brahmas.

Wow!
Awesome!

Your flock is beautiful!
I have Brahama's named Pipi, Lily, Roxy and Milly.
Milly is so sweet, AWESOME and Pipi is like an eagle could be rough or sweet but beautiful, Lily is giant and loves to run.
Finally Roxy is a funny bird, fast and cute!

I love the names of your flock a lot too!

And yes, the buff Brahma rooster and a dark hen would be nice!

Good luck with your Bantam Wyandotte's, I hope their nice!

Thank you, ladies. I think they are quite nice looking chickens. I plan on hatching some of their eggs.

My Wyandottes arrived a day early. Whew! Good thing I was home to get the call! Now I'm busy.

Thanks for reading and commenting on my feather-kids. I like your names, too, Hen. The "illies" is quite cute. They sure are fun.

Thank you so much!
I love naming my chickens, it is always fun!

I am glad your Wyandottes arrived,
good luck picking out names!

Have a great day!
